Established between 1863 and 1868 amidst the verdant landscapes of Darjeeling’s Rungbong Valley, Sungma tea estate stands as a testament to enduring British colonial legacies in the region. This verdant sanctuary, boasting over 300 hectares of immaculate terrain, not only produces exceptional teas but also harbours a thriving nature reserve adorned with thousands of majestic pine trees. Amidst the cool, misty climate, where temperatures oscillate between 3 degrees in winter and 28 degrees in summer, Sungma’s teas acquire their distinctive character, reflecting the essence of its Himalayan terroir.

Following the devastation wrought by a massive earthquake in 1934, Sungma underwent a transformative period, merging with Turzum to fortify its operations.
